Situated on the California Coast in Los Angeles, the Rolling Hills Leads Club Chapter has been in existence since July 2006 and proudly generated $921,818.22 in net new business for their Members in 2012!!
How did they do it? They pride themselves on really getting to know their Members well so they can properly refer the right clients. They also enjoy spending time together and attribute that to their success and prosperity. Finally and no surprise, to quote: ”Our focus is on how to help those in the group, not how we’ll grow our own businesses”. Well there you have it, the key to success is also the Golden Rule.

St. Patrick’s Day is the day we celebrate our Irish Heritage (I’m 25% Irish). Having visited Ireland a number of times representing Leads Club and traveling with my father, I learned the importance of a welcoming spirit.
The Irish people are Warm, Welcoming and Inclusive.
How does a welcoming spirit pertain to Networking? Just think about the last time you were at a networking event…. Were those that expressed these traits people that you gravitated towards? For me, yes.
How can you be Warm, Welcoming and Inclusive in your Networking activities?
Warm… In other words sincere. A sincere, warm greeting paves the way to build a relationship with those you meet. Welcoming…Learn about their world. Who are they, what do they need and want. How can you help them? Make it all about them.
Inclusive...Include them in your sphere of influence. Think about who you can refer them to that can help them.

We recently introduced Leads Club’s new Tagline: “Connect, Collaborate & Prosper”.
Creative genius Judith Balian with Exocoveries and I worked together on the project. Originally we selected “Succeed” for the third word. After further consideration I decided “Prosper” was more appropriate for what we do here in Leads Club. Check out the definitions below and how each one resonates when you say the words.
Did we make the right decision? Is Prosperity more appropriate for what we do in Leads Club or is it Success?
Webster’s New World Dictionary defines:
Succeed: To happen or turn out as planned or attempted. To achieve or accomplish something planned or attempted. Realize a goal or goals.
Prosper: To succeed, thrive, grow, etc. in a vigorous way. Good fortune, wealth, success.
Thank you to Michelle Bergquist of Connected Women of Influence for inviting me to be part of your panel on the topic! The other title is: Bitch vs. Bulldog. Personally, I find it annoying that we continue to have this conversation in 2013 but let’s ask our Members to share their opinions and thoughts.
One of the questions we’ll be asked is:
“Is there a different assertive or agressive code of conduct for men vs. women?
Please giveme your feedback, do women need to act less assertive than men?

Best wishes to you on this day of Love!!
I may say the words: “I love you” more freely than others and yes, it is sincere. As there are many types of love; I’m OK with that. So then, what does Love in business mean? We love those we care about. I care about many of my business friends; Clients, Members, Associates, Contractors etc. Let’s capture this wonderful day and remember those we Love!
Marketing Tip: My favorite cousin recognizes Valentine’s Day the same way many of us do the December Holidays. It has always been memorable to receive her Valentine’s Day greeting as it is not lost in the masses. Consider adopting a holiday that is complimentary to your business and send out Greetings and start a tradition of reconnecting with your business friends, past, present and future on that day.
The “Focused Networking” definition of Networking is: “Building Business Friendships”.

Is it appropriate to Network during the Holidays?? Heck ya!!
Networking is: ”Building and Maintaining personal and professional connections” and what better time to do that during this special time of year. Whether this is quieter or busier time of year for you, remember to “remember” all of those people important to you.
I know it’s hard to fit in all of the traditional types of Holiday traditions like cards, electronic or paper. Here are a few options:
*Chose your favorite 5 people personally and professionally. Dust off that phone and give them a call for for the sole purpose of saying hello and wishing them a Joyous Holiday. Remember to express interest in their life too.
*Revive or create a tradition. I make my Grandmother’s recipe for Scrabble (Chex Mix) and my sister loves her recipe for fudge. Christmas morning was special because we had Danish Pastry and chives in our scrambled eggs. It doesn’t have to be food, it could be a walk or creating a craft project. What ever brings happy memories.
As Entrepreneurs, we spend so much time with our business, I hope you will take some time this season just for you!!!
Warmly,
Lisa
