Colleen MacLachlan, a Consultant in Gulf Gate Leads Club in Sarasota has shared the following;

Being new to Sarasota, I joined LEADS Club to start up my business and make some business connections and friends in my new home. LEADS Club exceeded my expectations. I love that the lunches stay on track so I can get back to work on time. Being new to the area I was able to hear about events happening in the community so I can network with the right people and best of all, I have received enough leads in the first 8 months to pay for my dues for the next 4 years!!!

How to Build a Million Dollar Database

Marketing Monday
Show Notes: August 8, 2011

How to Build a Million Dollar Database

One of the biggest challenges for business professionals is how to keep track and organize all your contacts and relationships, along with maintaining the right balance of contact between important clients, business partners, referral partners and prospects.  Who do you contact and when?  Are all contacts equally important?  What can you do to build and strengthen business relationships?  How do you consistently keep track of referral partners who have sent you business versus those you would like more referrals from?  And, how do you keep track of your contacts in a database that makes sense in system and execution?

Thank you to Cathy Wagner, Leads Club Regional Leader and owner of Blue Noodle Promotions in Chicago.

She presented a content rich and easy to follow hour on how you can maximize your advertising experience with Leads Club.

Two of the highlights for me were:

1. Use Key Words in your 30 second promotional. Key words are such a big part of our marketing today, why not expand your reach beyond the web and train your Sales Force (fellow Leads Club Members) to listen for them and realize a Lead generating opportunity.

2. “Leaving Money on the Table”. When you do not use all of your 30 second promotional time or miss a 10 minute presentation, you are leaving advertising dollars on the table. If you purchased a dozen 30 second adds on your local radio station, you would surely create a 30 second advertisement vs.. dead air time.

Leads Club Members, log onto the Members Only section and check out the Audio Seminars available to support you in succeeding in the Leads Club system!

To your success,
Lisa

”Thank you”  to the dynamic Members of the Whittier Leads Club, (founded in 1983) for welcoming visiting Leads Club Member Stephen Page from Queensland, Australia.   Mr. Page is a Lawyer with Harrington Family Lawyers and in the States attending a Conference and a bit of vacation as well.  During his 10 minute presentation, Stephen told us about his practice and areas of speciality.  In addition, we learned about his home Chapter, Brisbane Central,  how they compare and their Lead goals for 2010.

Fun information:  The country of Australia is the same size geographically as the US with a population similar to that of the state of California.  Brisbane is the 3rd largest city in Australia with a population of 2 million, located in the northeast portion of the country.  Many may know it as the home State of one of the 7 great wonders of the world, the Great Barrier Reef.

Stephen is warm, friendly and professional and we appreciate him taking time to visit with us.  I was very impressed that he drove himself to the meeting, just 20 miles, but consider that it is a different side of the  road and the Los Angeles freeways!  Good job.

Constant Contact, the E newsletter company, offers Free Workshops here in San Diego and around the country, teaching tips and techniques on email marketing and how to use their program.  I attended the 2 hour session and felt it well worth the time and 2 hour round trip ride there.   Here are a few of the many highlights:

*  Keep marketing in a down economy!!  Those who do are substantially more successful when things turn around.

* Building your List:  Give something away.

*The most valuable Real Estate on your newsletter is the upper left corner.

He also included the best days and times to send and used Australia as an example of how they read emails at a different time than folks in the US.

Check out their website for when this workshop may be coming to your town.  I highly recommend it!!!

Communities are in all parts of our life. How are your communities supporting you?

Business community?
Family community?
Social/Friends community?

If any of these areas need enhancement, you can start by considering three important basics of building a community:

  1. Tell everyone and anyone about your new community. Ask them to participate and/or refer you to people who would enjoy and benefit from connecting with awesome people like YOU!
  2.  Treat all Members of your past, current and future communities with respect and professionalism. Yes, even your social communities need to be treated professionally.
  3. Nurture the Members of your community. Think about how you like to be treated and do the same to others. Look for opportunities to connect.

Share your ideas about building a community by commenting.
